TELSURF PURSUES THE B2B MARKET
|
Los Angeles, CA April 5, 2000 (ICB TOLL FREE NEWS) TelSurf Networks Inc., an Internet ``audio browser'' service, and Intraco Systems Inc., a voice application service provider (Voice ASP) specializing in Voice-Powered Websites(TM), today announced a joint marketing agreement that will significantly expand the scope of voice-activated Internet access available to consumers via any phone -- new or old, wired or cell -- through 888-TelSurf.
The companies made the announcement at Spring Internet World, here through April 7.
Patent-pending and fully voice-activated, 888-TelSurf turns ordinary telephones into Internet on-ramps by enabling subscribers to access select Internet-sourced audio content and communications services from anywhere at any time, through a toll-free number. 888-TelSurf is free to the user, supported by targeted, interactive audio advertisements.
Under the agreement, TelSurf Networks and Intraco will provide telephony audio access -- via 888-TelSurf -- to e-commerce-oriented Internet content at the Web sites of Intraco's customers. Intraco, in turn, will market these services along with its business partners, which include AT&T, Cable & Wireless, Intermedia, BellSouth, Fuzion Communications and Level 3.
Intraco's customers use Intraco services to voice-power their Web sites, enabling consumers to call in and buy products. Going forward, 888-TelSurf will enable their members to access these e-commerce sites directly from 888-TelSurf and make purchases using simple voice commands.
The marketing agreement also provides that:
The two companies will jointly develop audio telephony access and interface protocols for expanding business-to-business (B2B) applications
TelSurf Networks will use Intraco's paging system to notify 888-TelSurf subscribers of message arrivals and other alerts, such as a change in an auction bid at eBay, Amazon.com or Ubid.
Currently available on a limited basis in the Los Angeles area, the 888-TelSurf service will expand to full North American availability in May.
