INTERNET.COM ACQUIRES DOMAINBOOK.COM & UMCLAIMEDOMAINS.COM
|
New York, NY April 5, 2000 (ICB TOLL FREE NEWS) internet.com, the
Internet Industry Portal, today announced it has acquired DomainBook.com and
Unclaimeddomains.com. Both Web sites, combined with internet.com's recent
launch of DomainNotes.com, consolidate internet.com's position as a leading
provider of domain name and registration information on the Web. Terms of
the acquisitions were not disclosed.
DomainBook.com is one of the largest destinations on the Web connecting
buyers directly with sellers of Internet domain names and provides broker
referral services for Internet properties, Web sites and Internet-based
businesses. UnclaimedDomains.com is a paid-subscription e-mail newsletter
service offering exclusive access to lists of domain names as they expire
from official registration services InterNIC and ICANN.
``As the reseller market for domain names continues to expand, it is
essential to provide our community of Web developers and E-commerce
professionals with a service to fulfill their domain name requirements, in
addition to domain name industry information,'' said internet.com chairman
and CEO Alan M. Meckler. ``Further, we have now formed a platform by which
we can build a premier marketplace for the buying and selling of one of the
Internet industry's most highly valued commodities.''
