PUBLIC NOTICE ISSUED IN TOLL FREE CC DOCKET 95-155
|
Washington, DC November 15, 2001 (ICB TOLL FREE NEWS) In a Public Notice (DA 01-2667) issued today, the FCC granted the industry an extension of the December 8, 2001 implementation deadline for the changes to the Disconnect and Suspend status functions in the SMS/800 database, as contemplated in the December 7, 2000 Keller-Wade Letter (DA 00-2754) "until such time that the Bureau is able to address the outstanding issues raised in the June 2001 Public Notice (DA 01-1463)."
The Commission also restated that its toll-free regulations and policies prohibit RespOrgs from transferring toll-free numbers directly from one subscriber to another, unless the Commission grants a waiver or changes the rules.
This decision was made in response to the July 25, 2001 SNAC correspondence to the Commission (OBF Correspondence 010726-01) requesting an additional extension of six to eight months after the Commission releases an Order addressing the issues outlined in the June 2001 Public Notice.
